Privacy
IPClear is a diagnostic tool. To run a test we process your IP address, which your browser sends with every request. This page is a starting-point draft; have it reviewed before launch, especially before enabling ads.
What happens to your data
- Your IP address is sent to our server and to the IP data provider(s) we use to look up its location, network and reputation. Results are not saved to a database by this application.
- Your browser contacts public STUN servers (Google, Cloudflare) for the WebRTC test and an IP echo service (ipify) to detect IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
- For the DNS leak test, your browser looks up random names under dns.ipclearcheck.com. Our DNS server stores the IP addresses of the DNS resolvers that asked (not your own IP) for 10 minutes, then deletes them.
- Your hosting provider may keep standard access logs, which include IP addresses.
- The theme preference is stored in your browser's local storage. We set no tracking cookies.
